Executive Director 

Cecilio Dimas is the Executive Director of the Silicon Valley Mathematics Initiative (SVMI). His journey with SVMI began as a participant in professional learning, Lesson Study, and ongoing coaching, which led to his joining the SVMI facilitator team and transitioning to a full-time leadership role in 2016. Prior to SVMI, Cecilio served at the Santa Clara County Office of Education (SCCOE) as Director of the STEAM Initiative and as a Mathematics Coordinator supporting Common Core implementation.

Having taught at both the elementary and secondary levels, Cecilio brings extensive experience as a classroom teacher, coach, and administrator. He is passionate about working alongside students, teachers, and leaders to cultivate joy in the mathematics classroom. Cecilio believes that nurturing critical thinking, collaboration, communication, and language development is essential for all students to thrive in their local, national, and global communities.
