SVMI Summer Coaching Institute in the East Bay

The Summer Coaching Institute provides teachers with whole group problem-solving, a grade span course, & mini-Edcamp sessions to learn about tools, resources and ideas from each other and/or planning time that will allow them to work closely with your districts’ coach/leader to make long range plans and develop relationship that will enhance mathematics instruction. In the whole group, we’ll explore this year’s 3-part theme, 1) Modeling, 2) Social Justice in Mathematics Education and 3) Academic discourse & language by problem solving utilizing performance tasks and a new Problem of the Month (POM). Additionally, in grade level group sessions, a variety of learning experiences anchored by grade-level specific routines, research, resources, and tools will be provided. Lunch is included.
Administrator Sessions: Tuesday and Thursday from 8 a.m. to noon.
